Can GPT replace coders doing development?
Posted by ChristianAust on March 8, 2023 at 6:18 amIn my opinion, ChatGPT’s value lies in the fact that it can supply OpenAI with user data to help it develop a tool or AI designed explicitly for training. Imagine you could learn anything, at your speed, based on how much you already know and what you want to learn. Learning as we know it will be fundamentally altered, and I wouldn’t be shocked if, in the future, something that currently takes a year of experience or study could be learned in as little as a month or two.

In my opinion, it can’t replace coders because there are set rules given to coders when working with a program. But instead, I think ChatGPT will be of help for coders when looking for bugs, errors and other problems that programmers encounter.

I agree with you that ChatGPT isn’t a suitable substitute for programmers because coding requires a clear set of guidelines that an experienced coder can only understand. Nonetheless, I am convinced that ChatGPT can help developers find and fix bugs and errors, increasing output and effectiveness. ChatGPT’s extensive database and cutting-edge language processing capabilities make it valuable for streamlining development processes and enhancing code quality.

That’s an interesting perspective, Mhiema. While ChatGPT and other AI language models are incredibly powerful tools that can assist with a wide range of tasks, I don’t believe they will completely replace coders and developers anytime soon. While AI can certainly assist with coding and software development, the ability to understand complex programming concepts, anticipate potential issues, and create optimized solutions requires a level of human expertise that cannot be replicated by AI alone.

Totally concur with you, Jazzteene. Although I find AI language models like ChatGPT to be extremely useful and effective, I do not believe they will soon be able to replace human programmers and developers. In spite of the fact that AI can help programmers and software engineers with their work, only humans have the cognitive capacity to fully grasp complex programming ideas, anticipate potential issues, and craft optimal solutions. As a result, I think that AI and humans will continue to collaborate in the technological realm.

In my opinion, No, ChatGPT cannot replace coders doing development because programming is not just about writing code, it involves critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity

I believe that human coders will always be essential in software development, and ChatGPT can only serve as a tool to support and enhance their work.

It will need human intervention for the code to be perfect, ChatGPT is an awesome tool to learn how to code because it gives you various examples of how you can execute the code, but it needs human intervention to unlock the full potential of the code.
-
And I couldn’t agree with you more! While resources like ChatGPT are excellent for teaching new programmers by providing working examples of code, they still can’t replace the need for a human touch. Human coders have insights and skills that machines just can’t match. The true potential of coding can only be unlocked through the joint effort of humans and machines.

No, ChatGPT can’t replace coders who doing development entirely because developing software applications requires more than just generating natural language responses. It requires understanding of programming languages, complex problem-solving skills, and software methodologies.
-
In my opinion, ChatGPT cannot fully replace coders. Yes, ChatGPT can be a helpful tool for automating certain aspects of coding, but it cannot fully replace the critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity that human coders bring to the table.
-
While ChatGPT can assist with certain aspects of coding such as providing suggestions for syntax or pointing out errors, it cannot replace the skills and knowledge required for software development.
-
For me, hindi kasi ChatGPT is still a man made site so its impossible that AI will replace programmers. #Programmerlangsakalam

GPT models are designed to generate text based on input text, and are trained on large amounts of data to learn patterns and structures in language. However, they lack the ability to write code and do not have the knowledge and expertise required for software development.
-
ChatGPT and other language models have the potential to assist developers in various tasks, they cannot replace coders and software developers in their core role of designing, developing, and maintaining software systems.
-
In my opinion, ChatGPT cannot replace coders in development, but ChatGPT can serve as an assistant in looking and fixing some bugs to improve the capability of a program.
-
no, AI cannot replace human coders completely due to limited capabilities.

ChatGPT and other AI models can help developers in many ways, but they can’t completely take over coding and development work. AI models like ChatGPT are pretty cool tools that can help you out with stuff like making code snippets or giving you ideas.
