In my perspective, the company has to encrypt crucial data that might be used against them for different types of threat and use a secured VPN.

Crucial data will always be secured on the company’s end, but on the employee’s end while working remotely having additional security such as VPNs when connecting to the company’s database is a great advantage to avoid hackers, phishers or ransomwares.

You should Follow company policies. Follow your companyguidelinesies for data security and information protection. Use approved tools and software for your work, and avoid sharing confidential information with unauthorized parties.
-
Establishing clear policies for accessing and sharing company information is definitely an important strategy for ensuring data security and protecting confidential information in a remote work setup.

Employ monitoring tools and security measures to detect and respond to potential security incidents or breaches promptly. Implement intrusion detection systems, log monitoring, and real-time alerts to identify any unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activities.
-
Securing data and protecting confidential information in remote work is essential to maintain trust and prevent data breaches. Use secure networks such as VPNs, strong passwords, encryption tools, limited access to confidential information, secure communication channels, and regular cybersecurity training to protect against threats. These tips can help maintain customer trust and ensure data security.

Secure Home Networks:
- Encourage remote workers to secure their home networks with strong passwords for routers. Changing default router login credentials and using WPA3 encryption contribute to a more secure home network.
-
Provide Secure Collaboration Tools:
- Choose and implement secure collaboration tools with end-to-end encryption for file sharing, messaging, and video conferencing. Ensure that these tools comply with relevant data protection regulations.
-
Establish Data Access Controls:
- Implement access controls to restrict data access based on job roles and responsibilities. Only provide access to the information necessary for an individual’s specific tasks.
