• What kind of data and information does ChatGPT have access to?

Posted by Aeronn on March 9, 2023 at 5:20 am

ChatGPT is trained on a massive amount of text data from different sources like books, articles, websites, forums and other sources that is available to public. It has an access on a vast amount of information on a wide range of topics like science, math, history, livelihood and many more. But its responses is based on the data it is trained for rather that direct access on the information. However ChatGPT access to information is limited in certain ways like for example ChatGPT is not trained on sensitive and confidential information because it might lead to potentially harmful or biased content to its user.

ChatGPT has access to databases that include structured data, such as those that contain consumer information, financial data, and patient records.

ChatGPT’s access to data and information is one of its key strengths, but it’s important to understand the limitations and potential biases that may be present. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this topic, AEe!

ChatGPT is a machine learning model that uses text-based inputs and outputs to generate responses, but does not have any inherent knowledge beyond what it has learned.

I agree, even though ChatGPT’s last major training update was in September 2021, it has been continuously fine-tuned and updated with new data and information as time goes on

Thank you, Aeronn, for providing valuable information about the data and information that ChatGPT has access to. It’s impressive to know that ChatGPT is trained on a massive amount of publicly available text data from various sources such as books, articles, websites, and forums.

ChatGPT doesn’t have access to specific databases, live data, or proprietary information. It generates responses based on a mixture of licensed data, data created by human trainers, and publicly available data. It’s important to note that it doesn’t have real-time access to personal data unless explicitly provided in the conversation. The goal is to respect user privacy and confidentiality.

The personal information ChatGPT receives automatically is no different from any other SaaS app, and includes: Device data, including what device and operating system you use. Usage data, including your location, the time and the version you use. Log data, including your IP address and the browser you use
